The engineering process is a set of steps that engineers, developers, and scientists use to create products or solutions. These products or solutions may be used in daily life to solve problems experienced by consumers or users.

The process starts with students defining the problem, researching it and identifying requirements that must be met. They brainstorm ideas and look at what others have done in order to solve the problem.

They then choose the best solution from their list and build a working prototype. This step shows that students have achieved a great deal and can see the idea become a real-life solution.

Students test their prototypes to see if they perform as expected. They can also use the prototypes to make improvements to their designs.

Before they can have a finished design, they will probably go through several different prototypes. This iterative design process teaches students that they need to keep improving their designs and can’t stop until they have the best possible design.

They can use engineering to solve any problem, whether or not they decide to be engineers. They can use the skills they have learned to complete any project, whether it is building skyscrapers or making sneakers.
